Kinclune is owned and run by Rowan and Marguerite Osborne.  The farm is an organic unit and comprises a pedigree herd of Saler and Highland cattle, a commercial flock of Scottish Blackface, Blueface Leicester and Llyen sheep, the Na Dailach Highland Pony Stud and Kinclune Clydesdales.

RHIBHINN NA DAILACH

The Royal Highland Show was 5 year old mare Rhibhinn na Dailach's first outing under saddle.  She was place 3rd In-Hand and 5th out of 20 in the Ridden giving her the best combined placing for a mare entered in the In-Hand and Ridden sections.  She is ridden and produced by Virginia Osborne.

5 year old gelding, Kinclune Danny Boy, came 4th in the CHAPS (UK) Horse of the Year Show Qualifing Class at the Royal Highland Agricultural Show.  On his debut in the Coloured Horse Section, only two months earlier, he took Reserve Champion and won the Ridden and In-Hand Qualifiers for the CHAPS (UK) Championship Show.  
 
In 2009, his first season under saddle aged 4 years, Danny Boy attended three shows winning:
  • Champion Blair Castle Internaional Horse Trials Clydesdale Ridden Final
  • Reserve Champion ridden Clydesdale and the prize for the best horse by a Dillars stallion, The Royal Highland Show
  • Champion ridden Clydesdale and Qualifier for the Clydesdale Ridden Championships at Blair Castle, Perth Agricultural Show 2009

GAIGHAN NA DAILACH SETS SAIL FOR SWITZERLAND

 

Four year old gelding Gaighan (Charmian na Dailach x Charlie of Muck), pictured with Marguerite and Virginia, has set off to his new owner in Switzerland.  Rowan, Marguerite and family would like to wish his new owner the very best of luck for the future.  He has a wonderful and picturesque new home with a young family and their two Shetland ponies.  We hope that updates will follow.


MARGUERITE IS VICE PRESIDENT OF THE HIGHLAND PONY SOCIETY & VICE CHAIRPERSON OF THE SCOTTISH EQUESTRIAN BREEDERS ASSOCIATION (SEBA) 

 

Marguerite is the new Highland Pony Society Vice President.  In accepting her new role at the Society's AGM she said:

"I am very pleased to have been elected and I intend to do the best that I can for the Society".

Marguerite is looking forward to working with both SEBA Chairman, Dougal Dick, and Highland Pony Society President, Hugh Duncan, together with HPS Council, and Society Secretary, Susie Robertson.

Marguerite established the Na Dailach Highland Pony Stud in 1981 with her husband Rowan.  She has many valued friends in the Highland Pony Society and other Societies and looks forward to meeting members and breeders not known to her.
